According to police, Jai Prakash Singh shot dead his son and then committed suicide in a farmhouse near Hataikheda.

“On the basis of the suicide note left by Singh, cases have been registered against nine people on Saturday under the charges of abetment to suicide,” Bhopal Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad told IANS.

Singh, in his suicide note, alleged that a builder here and an Indore-based liquor manufacturer were harassing him over the possession of a farm house and financial transactions.

Singh’s brother also has corroborated the charges and said his brother often remained tense over the threats from those whose names have been mentioned in the suicide note.

A police team sent to Indore to raid the house of Indore-based liquor king, Vinay Kedia – one of the accused – found his house was locked.

“Rupesh, Ram Murti and Akhilesh were nabbed near the farm house, and are being interrogated to ascertain the facts,” Prasad said.

Besides Kedia others charged in the case are Ashu, Pappu, Bablu, Shaukat, Chuttan, Dheerendra, Pramod and Shailendra.
