New Delhi : A city-based businessman was arrested along with two Nigerians when they were striking a deal for 12 gm of pure cocaine, worth Rs.60,000 in the global market, the police said Monday.
Nnamdi Slave Nwabueze, a Nigerian, and Vivek Sarin, a city-based businessman, were nabbed Friday in a police raid at Sarin’s Greater Kailash-I residence in south Delhi.
The police also arrested Darry, another Nigerian, from Greater Noida, a satellite town on the outskirts of the national capital, the same day.
The raid was made after a tip-off that some Nigerians were involved in illicit trade of cocaine and would sell the drug to various customers in south Delhi.
It was learnt that Sarin, former Delhi Public School student and managing director of Ms Auto Ignition Ltd. in Faridabad, was to receive the narcotic substance from a Nigerian.
“During investigation it was found that Nwabueze had received the drug from Darry and had come to sell it to Sarin,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Narcotics) A.S. Cheema said.
In another incident, three people – Wasim, Mobina and Nurul Mohammed – were arrested from Gonda in Uttar Pradesh with 800 gm of heroin worth Rs.100,000 in the international market.
