AMU ties knot with Indonesia’s Darussalam Institute of Islamic Studies

Patna: With the purpose to work together in educational field and to arrange long run strategy for Human Resource Development, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) tied knot to Darussalam Institute of Islamic Studies, Indonesia.

The agreement was signed by both groups today when a seven member delegation of the Darussalam Institute of Islamic Studies, Indonesia met the AMU Vice Chancellor Professor P.K. Abdul Azis and other senior officials for the purpose.

During the meeting both two universities agreed upon to organize conferences, seminars and scientific discussions on various issues including development curriculum on Islamic studies, Shariah Arabic language and Islamic heritage and bringing the social and human sciences into Islamic perspective.

This was also decided at the meeting that both the institutions will hold cultural programs of the students jointly and will exchange visiting professors between the two institutions for agreed period.

Later, the delegation paid visit to the Departments of Theology, Islamic Studies, Arabic and the Library of the University
