One killed, five injured in Indonesia’s earthquake

Jakarta : One person was killed and five others wounded after a 7.9-magnitude powerful earthquake rocked Bengkulu in Sumatra Island of Indonesia Wednesday, Indonesian Disaster Management Agency said.

“Temporarily we got a report that one person was killed and five others were injured in Bengkulu city,” said an official of the agency.

Telecommunication and electricity facilities have been paralyzed in the region hampering rescue efforts, officials said.
