London: Former “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson has vowed to take pantomime to America for British citizens there.
The actress had such a blast during her festive stint in “Aladdin” at London’s New Wimbledon Theatre that she has come up with her plan for one in LA, as she is convinced there is a market for the shows back home in Santa Monica, California, reports thesun.co.uk.
“Pammie had never even seen a panto before she turned up to rehearse for ‘Aladdin’. But she had such a great time that she is keen to develop a show for the Americans,” said a source.
“Where Pammie lives there’s a big ex-pat British community who would enjoy it even if the locals didn’t get it,” the source added.
Anderson, who played the Genie of the Lamp in “Aladdin”, has even told her friends that she knows the perfect venue for a stage musical in America – the Ye Olde King’s Head pub as a lot of British actors, including Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham, do their boozing there because it sells draught beers from here.
The only snag is she could be pulling the rug out from under her own feet.
At the moment the pantomime season is a time when American stars can head here and earn a fortune for a couple of weeks’ work.
