Krishna speaks to Aussi counterpart over assaults on Indian students

By IRNA,

New Delhi : India’s External Affairs Minister S M Krishna Monday spoke to his Australian counterpart asking him to expedite the investigations in continuous assaults on Indian students there.

“I spoke to the Foreign Minister of Australia. I have drawn his attention to the increasing assault, some of them fatal, on Indian students. And I have requested him to expedite the investigation so that the culprits can be brought to justice,” Krishna told reporters here.

The minister also discussed the status of the investigations going on in these cases, besides conveying the concern of the country over these assaults.

Two Indians have been killed last week in Australia. Saturday’s incident of setting ablaze has made the students more scared in Australia.
