“I have resigned from some posts of the party on health grounds. I am still a member of the Samajwadi Party,” Amar Singh wrote in his blog.

He said he was not joining any other party as has been projected in the media.

“Some people say I am joining the Congress. This rumour has frustrated some Congress leaders,” he wrote in Hindi.

Putting the rumours to rest, Amar Singh wrote that he was quite all right in the Samjwadi Party and had the confidence and support of his leader, Mulayam Singh Yadav.

“Yes, god forbid, if the situations arise in the future where I may have to find political alternatives, I will have no dearth of options. But will prefer to bid an adieu to politics rather than joining the Congress,” he said.
