Gurgaon: A group of seven robbers stabbed a guard and overpowered another and tied him to a tree in the posh DLF Phase I area of Gurgaon early Monday, police said. Police are now searching houses in the area to find whether any of them was robbed.
According to Rishipal, the station house officer of Phase I police station, the robbers entered DLF phase one around 2:30 a.m., and when a guard, a member of Quick Reaction Team (QRT) of DLF, intercepted them, they overpowered him and tied him to a tree.
“When another guard came, they stabbed him 14 times,” he said, adding the second guard, identified as Ramesh, has been admitted to a local nursing home.
“Ramesh cannot give a statement as his condition is critical. We have taken the statement of the other guard, Jaswant,” Rishipal added.
A case has been lodged against seven unknown people under sections 459 (grievous hurt caused whilst committing house trespass or house-breaking), 307 (attempt to murder), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC.
