Japan’s new cabinet formally launched

Tokyo, Sep 26 (Xinhua) The cabinet of Japan’s newly elected Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda was formally launched Wednesday after the attestation ceremony at the Imperial Palace.

The cabinet is scheduled to appear in front of photographers at the prime minister’s official residence and hold its first meeting shortly after.

The imperial attestation ceremony was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but was delayed because it was too late when the first procedural press conference of several cabinet ministers finished.

Fukuda was Tuesday elected the nation’s 58th prime minister by the parliament. He formed the cabinet on the same day, retaining most of the former cabinet left by Shinzo Abe.
