Tehran : Three convicted rapists were hanged in public Thursday in northern Iran.
The three, who had raped 12 girls in the last three years, were hanged in a sports stadium in Babol after the Supreme Court confirmed their death sentence,
Since the beginning of the year, more than 150 convicts have been executed in Iran, many in public.
Murder, rape, sabotage and drug trafficking of quantities in excess of five kilos are crimes punishable by death in Iran.
