New Delhi: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today nominated eminent TV commentator and journalist Farah Naqvi as member of National Advisory Council. In total 14 persons have been nominated by PM for the Council in consultation with Council chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

The Central Government constituted National Advisory Council (NAC) with Congress president Sonia Gandhi as its Chairperson in March this year. The term of the members of NAC shall be for a period of one year with effect from the date of their appointment which may be extended. The Chairperson of NAC will hold the rank and status of Union Cabinet Minister.
