Cairo : Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is reportedly expected to meet Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas here Sunday on the latest Palestinian developments.
During the meeting, Abbas will brief Mubarak on the outcomes of his recent visit to the US and his call at the UN General Assembly for capitalizing on the planned international peace conference, called by US President George W. Bush, an Egyptian diplomatic source told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Mubarak and Abbas are also expected to discuss Israel’s recent escalated aggression on Gaza and its threats of a large-scale military attack in Gaza Strip, the source added.
Earlier on Thursday, Abbas contacted Mubarak on the latest situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Palestinian leader last visited Egypt on August 7, 2007.
