New Delhi : Sports Minister M.S. Gill Thursday suggested that five to 10 percent quota be given to sportspersons in educational institutions and jobs.
Gill, who spoke after inaugurating Delhi University’s rugby stadium, also questioned the present marking system in schools. “I don’t believe in all that. We need to give incentives to sportsmen in education and jobs. It can befive to 10 percent”.
He also hoped that the human resource development ministry and states would do something on his proposal.
The minister said a culture of sport was essential to becoming a developed nation and added that India has to find a solution to this “worry”.
