New Delhi : State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) registered a 41.84 percent rise in its net profit at Rs 667.66 crore on increased net sales in the first quarter of this fiscal as against Rs.470.69 crore in the like period of 2009-10.
The power equipment major declared its results during trading hours Friday.
Its income from operatiosn stood at Rs.6,761.23 crore compared to Rs.5,799.59 crore in in the corresponding period last year.
The net sales of the company also grew by 15.79 percent to Rs.6,479.69 crore from Rs. 5,595.65 crore in the like period of the previous year.
BHEL’s total expenditure for the first quarter also grew and stood at Rs. 5,762.91 crore as compared to Rs. 5,175.56 crore from the corresponding period last year.
Income from other business activities of the company registered a 28.02 percent fall at Rs. 163.45 crore to Rs.227.09 crore.
The company’s order book as on end of June was at Rs.148,000 crore, which is 4.50 times its net sales of Rs.32,880.30 crore for the year ended March 2010, giving strong revenue visibility.
