New Delhi : The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has initiated a special training programme for recruits who will handle Bangalore’s Metro stations which will be operational by the year-end, an official said Sunday.
Eighty-four candidates, who have joined as station controllers and train operators in the Bangalore Metro, are undergoing training at the Delhi Metro training institute and school situated in Shastri Park.
“The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has requested the Delhi Metro to train about 383 candidates. At present, 84 candidates are being trained for five months. The other candidates, who will come in different batches, will be trained subsequently,” the official said.
DMRC is India’s only Metro which is fully equipped with advanced technology and a training institute.
“We are also planning to introduce similar kind of training programmes for the staff and executives of other cities in which Metro is to be introduced, like Kochi, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Jaipur,” the official added.
