Lucknow: State convenor, Babri Masjid Action Committee (BMAC) Dr Shafeequr Rehman Barq and other office bearers on Wednesday have issued an appeal urging muslims to pray during the holy month of Ramzan so that the verdict in the Babri Masjid/Ram Janam Bhoomi case goes in their favour.
“We appeal to muslims to pray for getting the verdict related to Babri Masjid in their favour after every namaz especially Friday prayers and alwida (last Friday of Ramadan) prayers,” stated Barq in his appeal. Others who have also included them in the appeal include Vice-President BMAC, Maulana Mohd Idrees Bastavi, Maulana Mohd Yaseen and Co-convenor Mohd Qamar Alam.
The leaders in a joint statement have claimed that communal forces want to foment trouble by instigating the hindus over Babri masjid issue. “They want to influence the verdict by their hatred speech but we urged the muslims to restrain and do not react to such outburst. We have to maintain communal harmony in the nation,” said Barq. They have also appealed to secular parties and organisations to scuttle the move of communal forces in creating disharmony in the country.
In another development estranged Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan too has issued a statement that welcomed the court’s direction charge-sheeting several leaders in Babri Masjid demolition. The step was taken in a criminal case based on the report of CBI. “The list includes several persons who are occupying constitutional posts and are representing in parliament. They are members of different political parties and CBI’s step is a welcome move reinstating the faith of peace loving people of the country,” said Khan.
The leader hinted at several names as Brij Bhushan Saran Singh who is now a SP member and represents Qaiserganj seat in parliament. Referring to the Mulayam’s step seeking forgiveness from muslims over his bonhomie with former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, Azam retorted: “The stigma of December 6, 1992 will always remain and persons who were involved in it including those who have aligned with them will be never pardoned.”
