New Delhi: US Ambassador in India Timothy J. Roemer Friday laid emphasis on strong relations between India and China for a peaceful south-east Asia.
“It is important that India and China have strong relationship. India and US have strong relation, US and China have strong relations,” he said adding that it was necessary for peace in the region.
Not giving any direct reply on a question on China’s building nuclear reactors in Pakistan, Roemer accepted that Pakistan was not trust worthy in the field of nuclear proliferation seeing its past record.
“We trust India’s record of nuclear non-proliferation, but this will not happen in Pakistan seeing its track record,” Roemer said.
Talking about strong links between India and the US, specially following the civil nuclear deal, Roemer said: “India and US are seeing the world from the same prism, it is a very exciting time for president to come.”
