Another New Zealand athlete pulls out of Games

Wellington : A second New Zealand athlete pulled out of the Commonwealth Games citing safety concern, two days before the event starts in New Delhi.

Tennis player Ellen Barry has changed her plans to travel to India, TVNZ reported Friday. New Zealand’s Chef de Mission Dave Currie said Barry was to have partnered Marina Erakovic in the doubles.

It’s understood that a third tennis player, Marcus Daniell, is also pulling out but due to injury.

Last week, cyclist Greg Henderson had pulled out of the Games over security and hygiene concerns.
