Ranchi: Complaints against Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi and Booker Prize winner Arundhati Roy were Tuesday transferred to judicial magistrate court here for a Nov 22 hearing.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Vijay Kumar transferred both cases to Judicial Magistrate Amit Shekhary for a judicial inquiry.
A complaint against Gandhi was filed in the chief judicial magistrate’s court Monday for equating the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with the outlawed Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
Gandhi earlier this month in Bhopal reportedly compared the RSS with the SIMI, and the complainant has sought action against the Congress general secretary for passing such remarks.
A separate case was filed against Arundhati Roy for saying that Kashmir was never part of India.
