Jammu : A soldier was killed in a gunfight with separatist guerrillas in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district Friday, police said. The exchange of firing was continuing Friday night.
The gunfight broke out as security forces raided a terrorist hideout in Marwah forests Friday evening. In the initial exchange of fire, a soldier identified as Manzoor Ahmad was killed.
“The gun battle is still on,” a senior police official said in the night.
Kishtwar is about 230 km north-east of Jammu.
