Moscow : India and Russia Thursday inked a pact to develop a state-of-the-art fifth generation combat jet for their air forces. The two countries have also begun talks on extending their 10-year agreement on military cooperation beyond 2010.
The decisions were taken at the seventh meeting of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military Technical Cooperation.
“This has been a landmark visit. We have taken our military relations to a new high,” Defence Minister A.K. Antony told reporters after the signing of the protocol on the commission’s meeting.
Antony, who arrived here Tuesday on a four-day visit, is scheduled to return home Friday.
