New Delhi: A two-day Lok Adalat will be organised at the Delhi High Court premises Saturday to settle cases of power theft and meter tampering, an official said.
“The Lok Adalats will be organised from 10 in the morning. Cases that are either pending or are yet to be filed will be taken up. Unlike the earlier cap of Rs.5 lakh, cases of any amount will be entertained,” an official of power distributing company BSES said.
Consumers from south, west, east and central Delhi can either attend in person or through their advocates. A total of 20 courts and 12 help desks will be set up, he added.
Post settlement orders, customers will be given sufficient time to pay their bills at designated BSES enforcement offices and issued ‘no dues certificates’, he said.
“The last three Lok Adalats settled 6,661 cases worth around Rs.30 crore. We are expecting a good response this time round as well,” he said.
The company has started informing its customers about the Lok Adalat and is also advertising on radio, he added.
