Bhopal : A possible disaster was averted Tuesday when the driver of the Shatabdi Express ran over an abandoned motorcycle left on the tracks in Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh.
A biker was crossing the rail tracks near Bina station, about 80 km from here, when he saw the approaching train. He panicked and ran away, leaving behind the bike on the tracks.
The driver applied brakes in time but couldn’t prevent the bike from coming under the train’s wheels.
Railway officials were reluctant to provide further details.
“When no one is hurt, what is the need to make news?” railway spokesperson K.K. Dubey told IANS.
