New Delhi: The Academic Council of Jamia Millia Islamia, in a meeting on December 15, 2010, offered its condolences to Uma Khanna, wife of Lt. Governor of Delhi, Tejendra Khanna, and also to Maulana Marghoobur Rehman, Rector of Darul Uloom Deoband.
Uma Khanna passed away on December 12 after a brief period of illness. Maulana Marghoobur Rehman died at the age of 96 on December 8. He was suffering from various diseases and was bed ridden for the past several months.
Uma Khanna was associated with various social and cultural organizations of Delhi. She was the President of the Young Women’s Association and Delhi T.B. Association as also the Vice President of the Delhi Red Cross Society.
