Bhopal: The two-day “Aalamee Musabiqa Qirat-e-Qur’an” (international competition of traditional styles of rendition of the Holy Qur’an with Tajweed) is going to be organized here on 22nd and 23rd December at the historic Iqbal Maidan open air auditorium in the walled city after Isha prayers.
Qaris from the United Kingdom, Iran, Pakistan, Republic of Panama and different states of India including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and host Madhya Pradesh would exhibit their skills of rendering Qur’an in different styles in the competition.
The musabiqa is being organized under the banner of Aalamee Anjuman-e-Zeenat-ul-Qur’an with the support of local MLA Arif Aqueel.
According to Maulana Abdul Hafeez Khan, president of the Aalamee Anjuman, the well-known Qari Maulana Ghulam Mohammad Wastanvi, Rector of Jamia Akkal Kuan (Maharashtra), will be the chief guest of the program while Maulana Peer Saeed Miyan Mujaddadi, Rector of Darul Uloom Tajul-Masajid, Bhopal would preside over the function.
Besides, Qari Mohammad Aftab Ahmad of Darul Uloom Deoband and Qari Mohammad Riaz Mazhari of Nadwat-ul-Ulama, Lucknow along with other noted Qaris from different Madarsas will grace the function.
About prizes to the winner, Maulana Abdul Hafeez said that Qaris who will stand first, second and third in the musabiqa will be presented cash awards of Rs. 25,000; Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively along with mementos while those who will secure fourth and fifth position in the would be given Rs. 5,000 each as consolation prizes.
