Police said the unidentified victim was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

The incident occurred in sector 1 of Dwarka at around 8 a.m. The youth was apparently on his way to work when the bus hit him. Another youth was also reportedly injured in the accident.

The driver of the ‘killer’ bus has been taken into custody, a police official said.

Since January, the privately-run Blueline buses have claimed 97 lives and injured over 150. The Delhi High Court has come down heavily on the government for its failure to curb the menace and has asked for the entire fleet to be phased out.
