New Delhi : A blanket of fog covered the capital Tuesday morning and Delhiites shivered as the minimum temperature plummeted over 4 degrees Celsius to 3.7 degrees.
The minimum temperature was three notches below the average for this time of the season and a sharp dip from Monday’s 8.2 degrees.
“There was thick fog in the morning. The day would be cold and these conditions are likely to continue in the days to come,” said an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum temperature recorded Monday was 14.7 degrees, six degrees below average.
“The minimum temperature is expected to be around four degrees Celsius and the maximum would be around 15 degrees,” the official said.
The humidity hovered at it’s usual 97 percent.
