Dhaka : The Bangladeshi cabinet on Sunday approved the draft of the Vagrant and Homeless (Rehabilitation) Act-2010 in order to ensure shelter for the vagrant and homeless people.
The approval was given at the regular weekly meeting of the cabinet held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
The cabinet also okayed the Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Revenue Evasion, to be signed between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (EAU).
After the meeting Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Abul Kalam Azad briefed newsmen at the PID conference room here.
Besides, the council of ministers endorsed the proposal for signing an agreement between Bangladesh and Bhutan on Cultural, Education and Scientific Cooperation and the proposal for Catching, Preservation and Management of Fisheries Resources in the Bay of Bengal.
Apart from these, four reports on the South Korea tour of the Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister and participation of Bangladesh delegations in the 9th ministerial level meeting of Asia Cooperation Dialogue, the third meeting of Asia-Middle East Dialogue held in Bangkok and Delhi International Renewable Energy Conference were placed before the cabinet.
Ministers, advisers to the Prime Minister and State Ministers concerned attended the meeting. Cabinet Secretary and Secretaries concerned were present on the occasion.
