Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Minister for Public Works, Science & Technology and Information Technology Kailash Vijaywargiya has been selected for the prestigious “Building Industry Leadership Award”.
The award would be presented to the minister at the annual function of the Real Estate Observer, a national magazine focused on property management to be held at Hotel Intercontinental Grand in Delhi tomorrow (October 23).
According to an official Press release Vijaywargiya has been selected for this award by a high level jury comprising former union minister Bhishmanarayan Singh; former C.B.I. director Joginder Singh; former vice chairman of Delhi Development Authority K. S. Bains; former C.M.D. of HUDCO V. Suresh; Secretary in Government of India Dr. S.K. Pachouri and chairman of S.N. Media Group Vijay Dixit. Chairmen of leading construction groups of India Sushil Ansal, Niranjan Heeranandani, Suresh and Ashish Oberai would also be present on the occasion.
According to the information provided by Joginder Singh, Vijaywargiya has been selected for this award in recognition of his efforts made for improving infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh during the period he was Mayor of Indore and as minister in the present government.
It may be mentioned here that Vijaywargiya was instrumental in construction of cement roads and streets,development of squares and Pitra Pravat with community cooperation, which gave a distinct identity to Indore at the national and international level. Over 20,000 km roads have been constructed and work on another 13,000 km is in progress. Budget provision of Rs. 1837 crore has been made while ten years ago it was merely Rs. 114 crore.
As Energy Minister also, Vijaywargiya provided effective leadership that led to improvement in power generation capacity, distribution capacity and efficient management. ([email protected])
