New Delhi : Ace Indian pistol shooter Jaspal Rana’s little daughter has taken her first shots in the sport and Wednesday won her first prize too.
Devanshi won the under-12 category of the TopGun Pistol Shoot at the Siri Fort Shooting Range here. She collected 183 points, including a series of 91 and 92.
Co-incidentally, Rana too made his first mark at the age of 12. In 1988, he made his national debut and won a silver medal at the 31st National Shooting Championship in Ahmedabad.
He went on to win a gold in the centre fire pistol at the 46th World Shooting Championship (junior section) with a world record score in Milan, Italy, in 1994.
Son of a former Special Protection Group commando, Rana later won many medals and laurels, including the Arjuna Award in 1994.
Rana’s wife Reena and sister Sushma are also shooters.
