“That day (Monday), I was about to take the 1.30 a.m. Cathay Pacific flight for Macau. I returned home at around 6.30 p.m. and keept my things in place for the trip. After a few minutes, I got a call from Versova police station and the officer said he had got my bag with my documents and photographs asked me to collect the bag,” Ashutosh told IANS.

“At first, I couldn’t understand which bag the officer was talking about. I went there and I found my bag. My passport and currency was missing, but everything else was there. That was really unfortunate. I lodged an FIR because for reissuing a passport, they need some kind of proof,” said the actor who is playing corrupt police officer in Star Plus’ “Kaali – Ek Agnipariksha”.

The police found the bag outside Union Bank in Andheri.

“They got the bag from outside the Union Bank branch in Andheri near Lokhandwala circle. The police got a call from the bank that an unidentified bag was lying outside the bank so they should come and check it,” said the actor.

Asked how it got stolen, he said: “Sometime between 3.30 p.m. and 4 p.m. I took medicine from that bag. I went to Infinity Mall and came back and the bag was still there. Who could have thought that the bag will be stolen from the car, when the driver was sitting in the car?”

For the Star Pariwar Awards, Ashutosh was nominated in two categories – best actor in a negative role for “Kaali – Ek Agnipariksha” and in the best dressed actor category.

Rana regrets he couldn’t make it to the award function.

“It was really unfortunate because I was nominated in two categories and I was also to anchor a part of the show. It’s really a big setback,” he said.
