Chennai: Tamil Nadu’s ruling DMK may announce Monday the list of 63 constituencies the Congress will contest from in the April 13 assembly elections, a Congress leader said late Sunday.
“Seat-sharing talks progressed satisfactorily. The parties are in the process of finalising the list of constituencies. Most probably, the list will be finalised Sunday night and DMK might announce the final list Monday,” state Congress chief K.V. Thangkabalu said.
He was speaking to reporters after the fifth round of talks between the two parties on the seat-sharing arrangements for the polls to the 234-member assembly.
The two parties had signed their seat-sharing accord March 9 after much acrimony. Thereafter, their talks focused on the constituencies the Congress would contest from.
