New Delhi : Rwanda’s Diudone Disi won the Vodafone Half Marathon in the Open Elite Male section here Sunday.
The Rwandian was always the favourite to win the title, going by current form, and he clocked 1:00:43 seconds to set a new course record. Kenyan Issac Macharia was second in 1:00:48 seconds and his compatriot Patrick Mbuvi finished third in 1:02.03 seconds.
World No.3 Wilson Kiprotich, also of Kenya, disappointed as he finished fourth in 1:02.04 secs while his country mate and 2005 champion Philip Rugut was fifth with a timing of 1:02.58 seconds.
India’s Ram Singh Yadav won the race in the Indian Male section and was 16th overall in the Open Elite Male category with a timing of 1:06:09 seconds. Deep Chand, currently the country’s No.1 long distance runner, was second in the Indian male section and was 17th overall after he clocked 1:06:10 seconds.
