Chittagong : Heavy rains and strong winds lashed Chittagong Monday evening, raising serious doubts of play taking place on the fifth and final day of the first India-Bangladesh cricket Test Tuesday.

A few hours after India finished the fourth day at 44 for two in their second innings, the entire Bir Shrestha Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium was lashed by rains, though the pitch and its adjoining areas were covered well.

According to the BBC website, heavy showers were forecast for Tuesday. If that happens, the match will surely meet a watery end. The entire third day's play was lost to rains.

India now have an overall lead of 193. If it does not rain Tuesday as forecast, captain Rahul Dravid might think of declaring the innings and setting a target for the home side.
