“We challenge Mayawati to come out with a white paper,” BJP Legislature Party leader Om Prakash Singh told media persons here.

Claiming that the charges levelled against Mayawati were supported with evidence, Singh dared the chief minister to give point by point reply to the allegations of huge pilferage of government funds, running into thousands of crores of rupees, allocated to her dream projects. The BJP has compiled all these allegations in a 400-page book.

“We have sought to highlight the bungling in purchase of granite and sandstone that have been used extensively in each of the projects. Besides, the irregularities in laying out gardens and parks were also illustrated in the book brought out by us,” Singh said.

He sought to know from the Mayawati government why had it given away all major government contracts to two major companies? “Every contract related to construction of expressways and highways or mining and sale of liquor were monopolised only by these two companies,” he said,
