SIO condemns disruptions at AMU

By TCN News,

New Delhi: The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) has strongly condemned the disruption at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Friday that led to the closure of the university. “It is very unfortunate that such incidences are occurring in one of the premier campuses of the country that holds a high status across the world. It is very regrettable that students are involving in gundaism,” said SIO President, Mohd. Azharuddin.

The student body also criticized the AMU administration for its incompetence to control the situation and instead impose sine-die at the campus.” Imposing sine die at the juncture that is the eve of examinations, is not in the favor of the student community.”

Azharuddin demanded an independent inquiry into the matter and strict punishment to the extent of rustication of the students involved in the act. He also requested the students of the university to maintain calm and not to indulge in anti-academic and anti-social activities.
