The targeted rebel training camps are located in Mankulam, some 300 km northeast of the capital Colombo.

They said the air raid was successful, but the LTTE has not made any comment on the latest air raid.

More than 4,000 people have been killed since December 2005 despite a Norwegian-arranged truce in place.
