Mumbai: Leading mobile service provider Reliance Communications, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), Monday reported a 4.4 percent increase in its revenue at Rs.23,108 crore for the 2010-11 fiscal ended March 31.
The customer base of the company rose 33 percent at 136 million during the period under review as against 102 million during the like period of the previous fiscal, the company said in a statement.
The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization increased 16.1 percent at Rs.9,081 crore during the year under review as against Rs.7,821 crore in 2009-10.
The company also said that it has drawn the third and final tranche of $266 million out of a $1.93 billion loan from the China Development Bank.
The drawn down amount will be used to refine the company’s short term rupee borrowing, resulting in substantial savings in its interest cost, apart from extending its debt maturity profile, the statement added.
Reliance Communications had last year paid Rs.8,585 crore towards spectrum fee for offering 3G services in 13 telecom circles in India.
The company has also approved a 10 percent dividend payout of Rs.120 crore, thus becoming the only telecom company in India to have declared dividend for four consecutive years.
At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the shares of the company closed 2.94 percent up at Rs.87.50.
