London : A woman in Britain managed to walk out of a shop while carrying a safe under her skirt in a 30,000-pound (about $49,000) theft.
Five other members of the Asian gang distracted the staff as she got into a private area of the shop. CCTV shows her entering wearing long trousers and leaving in a long skirt, The Mirror reported Friday.
Police said: “She was struggling to walk with the safe between her legs.” It held thousands of pounds in cash and heavy gold jewellery.
Shopkeeper Jagdish Duhre said: “I started shaking when I saw the safe had gone. The jewellery was so precious to me too.”
Police suspect the four men and two women may have also carried out an earlier 30,000-pound raid on a shop in Hatfield, Doncaster town in Yorkshire.
