“I was pleasantly surprised to see the decent, new hair cut of Shoaib Akhtar when he arrived at the (Lahore) airport today. This shows his attitude and it is a good indicator,” Lawson, a former Australia pacer, told reporters with a smile.

Akhtar had long mane till the fifth One-Day International against South Africa this week but he cut them really short for the Indian tour, which comprises five ODIs and three Tests, starting Monday.

Coaches have always had a problem handling Akhtar because of his eccentric behaviour. But Lawson said he would have no problem in tackling him.

Captain Shoaib Malik said he too would not confront any difficulty in handling Akhtar.

“Shoaib is a good friend, and I know him for a long time – well before we started playing cricket together. And I don’t think I will have any problem,” he told reporters.

Malik said that he loves playing in India.

“I don’t think we have any tension. When we see (India’s) matches on television we feel like coming to India. We enjoy here,” he said.
