Bangalore : The Karnataka unit of the Congress Monday said it will launch a “connect-to-people” campaign from Wednesday to educate people about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s “corruption and misrule”.
The campaign ‘Congress Nadige, Janara Balige’ (Congress walk to reach the people) will see hundreds of public meetings over 60 days covering all the 224 assembly constituencies in the state, state Congress president G. Parameshwara told reporters here.
The campaign will also inform people about the 125-year-old Congress party’s contribution to the nation, Parameshwara added.
The party also released a booklet to highlight its “achievements” and the B.S. Yedyurappa-led government’s “failure and scams” since it came to power in the state for the first time three years ago.
The Congress had taken out a march from Bangalore to Bellary, about 320 km away, in July-August last year against alleged illegal iron ore mining by the Reddy brothers, Tourism Minister G. Janardhana Reddy and Revenue Minister G. Karunakara Reddy.
