Stop obscenity on internet, Pakistani court told

Islamabad : A Pakistani man has urged the Lahore High Court to direct the government to check obscenity on the internet.

Lahore resident Sohaib Ahmad filed a petition in the court, saying while internet provided easy access to information, it also offered “obscene material”, the Daily Times reported Tuesday.

He said that as an Islamic state, Pakistan had to ensure that Muslims live in accordance with the fundamental principles of their religion.

Hev said the state should check printing, publication and circulation of obscene literature.
