Areva T&D signs pact with Power Grid Corporation

New Delhi : Power transmission and distribution firm Areva T&D Monday said it has signed an agreement with the Power Grid Corporation of India to provide ultra voltage technology to the latter’s upcoming 1,200 kv national test station at Bina in Madhya Pradesh.

“Under the agreement, Areva T&D India will provide 1,200 kv capacitor voltage transformers, disconnectors and digital current transformers,” the company said in a regulatory filing.

“All these high-end products have been developed, manufactured and tested at Areva T&D factories in Hosur and Padappal,” it added.

Power Grid is establishing a 1,200 kv ultra high voltage AC transmission system at Bina. It will facilitate field testing of equipment before deploying the technology for commercial purposes.

At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the shares of Areva T&D were up 1.49 percent to trade at Rs.262.
