Islamabad : Pakistan faces the challenging task of presenting the true picture of its culture and identity to the world, and it is the responsibility of the media to do so, a federal minister has said.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said the media can effectively project Pakistan’s “soft image” across the world besides helping strengthen democracy in the country, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
Awan was speaking at an event organised by APP.
Appreciating the performance of the news agency, the minister said it was considered a credible news agency across the world, successfully protecting national interests.
She said the ministry was working on a plan to link APP with other countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) for swift exchange of information.
