New Delhi : Parliament has so far lost around 27 hours of business time since the monsoon session commenced Aug 1 due to protests over the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on the Commonwealth Games (CWG), according to PRS Legislative Research Monday.
According to the data collated by the PRS, both houses of parliament lost 27.28 hours (41 percent) of the total 66 business hours.
At the end of the sixth day of the session Monday, the Lok Sabha has lost 36 percent of its scheduled time to disruptions. Time lost in the Rajya Sabha stands at 47 percent.
Of the 120 oral questions that were listed to be answered by ministers in each house over the last six days, only 14 have been answered in the Lok Sabha and 18 in the Rajya Sabha.
Answers to the remaining questions were tabled in the houses.
The CAG report on the Commonwealth Games was tabled Friday. The report indicted Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and CWG chief Suresh Kalmadi for irregularities in the Games.
