Bangalore : Microland Ltd renewed a multi-year deal valued at $55 million (Rs.249 crore) with British service firm Serco Plc for providing remote IT infrastructure management services, the leading IT firm said Wednesday.
“Serco renewed the contract under which we have been remotely managing its IT infrastructure since 2005. The new deal envisages special support to its range of devices through an expanded team at Birmingham in Britain and Bangalore,” Microland chairman Pradeep Kar in a statement here.
In light of the strategic deal, the company plans to provide an integrated onshore-offshore solution to global customers in the growing IT infrastructure management service space.
“The new agreement builds on our six-year partnership with Microland, which provides us with a cost-effective solution for specialist IT infrastructure services to support our service delivery,” Serco director March O’Connor said in the statement.
Microland’s onshore-offshore solution will also enable Serco to ensure its customers efficiencies they need in the long term.
After pioneering networking in the country in 1989, the 22-year-old Microland transitioned into a leading provider of internet-based services, floating subsidiaries such as Planetasia.com, Indya.com, ITSpace.com and Net Brahma Technologies.
