New Delhi : Expressing satisfaction over the progress of the education sector, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Monday said the government is now considering universalisation of secondary education.
“Whether it is elementary education, secondary education or higher education, we have taken concrete steps for improvements at all levels. This has shown good results,” he said in his Independence Day speech.
According to the prime minister, fundamental changes have taken place in the area of education in the last few years.
“Today every citizen has a right to elementary education. We are now considering universalisation of secondary education,” he said from the Red Fort.
