Zardari vows to enhance trade ties with China

Islamabad : Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari Monday vowed to enhance trade ties with China in various sectors.

The president held a meeting with a Chinese business delegation at Aiwan-e-Sadr, his official residence, here and discussed ways to boost trade ties, Geo TV reported.

Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and Water and Power Minister Syed Naveed Qamar were among other Pakistani officials who took part in the discussions.

Sou Lang Duo Ji, the founder of the China Lumena New Materials Corp., was among the members of the Chinese team.

The $4 billion Lumena company is one of the largest producers of special industrial chemicals.

Sou, who is also the owner of Laos Construction Bank, briefed the president about various projects being undertaken by his company and investments made in the energy, mining, banking and finance sectors in Pakistan.
