Don’t take morning-after pill regularly: Azad

By IANS,

New Delhi : Emergency contraceptive pills should not be used regularly, Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad warned Friday.

“The emergency contraceptive pills contain Levonorgestrel and are considered to be safe when used as recommended,” Azad told the Lok Sabha in a written reply.

“The pills should, however, be used in emergency only and not as a regular means of contraception,” Azad said, referring to the growing over-the-counter sales of the morning-after pills.
