New Delhi: The Congress Tuesday refused to comment on reports of party chief Sonia Gandhi returning from abroad Tuesday evening and said any information about her arrival will be shared.
“There is no need of speculation. As information comes, it will be shared,” Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said to queries about her arrival.
Congress sources said that party chief will come “very soon” but did not specify her date of arrival.
Gandhi has been recuperating after a surgery abroad for an undisclosed illness last month.
Before she left Aug 4, she had formed a four-member group, including son and general secretary Rahul Gandhi, to look after party matters in her absence. The others were Defence Minister A.K. Antony, her political secretary Ahmed Patel and party chief spokesperson Janardan Dwivedi.
The party rank and file has been eagerly awaiting her return.
